Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad’s (CCM) CHAMPS Educational School Programme has been voted winner of the ‘Best Corporate Social Responsibility Project’ award under the ‘Best Halal Product’ category by The Halal Journal Awards 2009.
The award celebrates and recognises CCM’s achievement and contribution to the educational development of the local community while advancing the Halal initiative in Malaysia and overseas.
According to CCM Bhd Group Managing Director, Dato’ Dr Mohd Hashim Tajudin, education was an integral part of a child’s growth as it offered the path to endless opportunities to guarantee and enhance their future prospects and quality of life.
“Knowledge is power. Good education stimulates young minds and helps them to be receptive to new ideas and enhance the acquisition of greater information and skills that can be applied in their everyday life.
“Our CHAMPS children’s multivitamins have been synonymous with the development of healthy minds and strong bodies among young Malaysians, providing them with sufficient supplemental nutrients to ensure a healthy and active lifestyle. Like all our pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and wellness products, CHAMPS is certified Halal and adheres fully to strict Islamic values of safety, quality and hygiene throughout the entire manufacturing process.

CHAMPSEducational School Programme consists of three activities that are supported by the Ministry of Education. This includes CHAMPS Emulsion Primary School Health Educational Programme which educates students on the importance of health supplements by informing them of the role of vitamins and introducing cod liver oil as a highly nutritious health supplement in an interactive atmosphere.
CHAMPS is also the main sponsor of the “Knowledge Discovery-CHAMPS National Spelling Competition”, jointly organised by Knowledge Discovery magazine and the Ministry of Education to enhance the spelling capability and enrich the vocabulary of primary school students, improve their English and imbue in the students the reading and writing habits.
Additionally, CHAMPS alsopublishes the ‘Health Booklet’ which aims at attracting children’s attention and engages them in a topic that is considered ‘heavy’ for young minds in an animated and fun way. The information is disseminated through comics, pictorial info and board games in three languages – Bahasa Melayu, English and Mandarin.
